Taboo, Owned by Pip Muser

August 31 we welcomed Taboo to Braecrest. This darling gelding was rescued by new owner Pip Muser right off the slaughter truck from a PMU farm out west. What a lucky guy he is.

Taboo is an 8 (ish!) year old 14'1 paint x clyde. He was rescued by Pip earlier this year in February.

Having spent years on a PMU farm as a breeding stallion, Taboo basically ran wild with the mares. He was not halter broke, never had his feet cared for, let alone any kind of de-worming program.

When Pip decided she could help this guy out, he was taken in by a rescue, vaccinated, gelded, and was on his way to Ontario. Over the last several months, Pip has worked hard at developing his trust, and teaching manners. Our first impressions of him were that he's a very quiet, kind boy, that just seems relieved to have someone caring for him.

Taboo spent two months with us at Braecrest to begin his under saddle experience. Within no time at all, this lovely boy was happily doing everything asked of him. Walk, trot, and canter, this guy seemed to just love his new job. Near the end of his term with us, we introduced him to having his owner rider him. He didn't miss a step in the transition, and Pippy did a fantastic job helping him understand a new rider and the slightly different balance/aids. Pippy now has Taboo at a facility that they can work together over the winter, and develop their partnership.
