Hours of preparation and hard work paid off with our four fillies. Claire Hunter presented Revel Sel De Mer in the Governor General Cup, and piloted her to a 4th place finish in the Lieutenant Governor's Cup. This young mare is sired by Jamestown, and out of Panama (Pablo). With both parents being successful international jumpers, this mare is one to keep an eye on!
Romantic Pursuit also competed in the Lieutenant Governor's Cup with rider Val Smith-Bracken, and proved herself to be very reliable and rideable young horse, with huge potential for the hunter ring. Thank you to Val for riding the filly for me, and being such a wonderful help and supporter!
Next to compete were the Thoroughbreds. Claire presented Romance in Ashes in the 2 year old filly class, with exceptional results. This filly was bred and owned by Claire Sutherland of Holstein Ontario. Never having been off her home farm a day in her life until she came to Braecrest, and certainly never shown, this filly blew us all away by taking the 1st place ribbon! She then went on to win Reserve Senior Champion, and was called back to the final three when determining the Grand Champion filly. What a compliment for this stunning filly, sired by Ashbury.
Signature Canvas was presented in the three year old thoroughbred filly class by Claire Hunter, and with a similar story to Romance in Ashes, this filly came out with very little experience, and took home the Red Ribbon! She then went on to win Senior Champion filly, and Reserve Grand Champion Thoroughbred! Signature Canvas is bred and owned by Soo and Lee Olafson of S.L.O Acres.

To finish up a very successful day, Romantic Pursuit was presented in the Three Year old Canadian Sport Horse filly class. With 10 top quality fillies competing, it was a tough class. We were thrilled with our 4th place finish. Romantic Pursuit will be started over fences in the new year, and begin her career as a riding horse.
