Braecrest Stables Presents... "Jumping in January"
With weeks of preparation, this event came together just about flawlessly. It was a showcase of 15 of the young horses we have available for purchase, shown at will, and then through a jumping chute. Most of the horses were at top form on Saturday January 24th, except for the few that were a little nervous with the audience and announcing speakers. The experience that all of the horses gained that day was just as valuable as being at a show. I would like to thank everyone for comming out to our event, and I hope you enjoyed your afternoon.
I have to say a huge thanks to all of my volunteers and sponsors, the day couldn't have happened without you. Head of the grooming crew was Brookelyn Cumberland, and along side her was Marisa Graham, Claire Sutherland, and Courtney Cotter. 15 horses was a lot to prep, boot, and have ready on time, and you guys were flawless! Angela Wrenn assisted me with catching the horses in the catch pen, and Kourtney
Matysek was on the gate of the catch pen. James Brinkman and Kevin Sutherland assisted with jump adjusting, thank you! On video camera was Debbie Hunter, and in the barn on our refreshments table was Lisa Allingham and Pat Gow. Thank you for keeping us well fed and with hot beverages! Carmen Cotter and Chris Hunter were on the information table. Heather Brinkman was our door lady, making sure it was safe to enter and exit the arena. Craig Widdifield was our announcer for the day, and I must say, you did a fantastic job Craig, I can't thank you enough! My uncle, Ken Hunter, was kind enough to supply us and set up a sound system for the day, thank you Kenny! Thank you all from the bottom of my heart, you are all amazing people and so supportive to me, it means the world.
Our sponsors were also a huge part of this day being a success! Thank you so much for your generous donations to our raffle, we raised ober $500 for the Multiple System Atrophy Support Group to help them find a cure. A huge thank you to Michael Pegg of Empire Jump Design, the Tottenham Feed Mill, Bob Meadows of All in Tack, Westover Farm, Claire's Blanket Service, Brooks Feeds, Jenn Pratt, Equine Artist, Terry the Carrot Man, Dustin Mercer, Blacksmith, Tracey Mercer of GreenDay Farms, HighPoint Awards and Ribbons, Breedon's Maple Products, Feels Like Home Renovations, and Aphrodite Cooks.
It looks like there is enough interest to hold further events like this one, and our next Showcase will be open to outside horses. Check back on our site for dates for the next Showcase event!
