Our beautiful mare, Revel Sel De Mer (Jamestown x Pablo), better known as Lily around the farm, delivered a stunning, strong bright bay filly by Banderas yesterday morning...
4pm on Monday April 4th, Lily started to act restless. I was carefully keeping an eye on her in the field that day, as she had been waxing heavily for about 24 hours now. I saw her lay down, and decided it was time to bring her into the barn. By about 4:30 she was in her stall, happily munching on hay, but acting uncomfortable every 20 minutes or so. Walking around her stall, pawing... then nothing. 5pm, 6pm, 7pm.... 11pm....same pattern, but no foal. I watched her carefully on the camera system over the next 5 hours, and she was just stuffing her face!! Piggy girl. Well, by 6am, she decided it was time. Water broke, baby arrived, and was up on her feet in less than an hour. She was vibrant and strong, and doing laps in the stall, testing out her legs. She is a brilliant bright bay with three white socks, and a darling face. She is sired by Banderas, and will be registered Canadian Sport Horse. Check back for photos and updates on baby 'Brandy'.
