"In choosing a facility for our young horse, I first asked around to people I have worked with before and who have earned my trust. This led me to Braecrest. I was not interested in an active competitor because I have worked with several of those before. They are fine when they are riding or training your *schooled* horse but bringing an inexperienced one along is a whole other skill set. Claire's reputation is for doing just that. She is not fitting your horse in between a busy competitive schedule. Nor is she handing them over to working students. She does the job herself.
Claire is also "breed blind". Arriving with a rare breed (that most people in Canada have never heard of) I was not greeted with "what am I supposed to do with that" but rather a positive attitude of discovering what the horse would excel at and working on what the horse has..rather than what he hasn't.
Claire has a remarkable gift for sensing what is right and wrong with a horse and factoring that into the workload. She is open to trying new things, ways of training and therapeutic modalitites. Her veterinary sense is very keen and I never lost a moment's sleep with our horse in her care."
